About Us
How It All Started
Bigg-A-Bed was conceptualized in 2019 at Middlebury College from a late-night conversation between friends in Hadley Hall. What came shortly after was the first prototype on the right, created with broken hockey sticks, tape, and 3D-printed hooks.

Luckily for you, our product has improved drastically since 2019 and over 1000 Bigg-A-Beds have been sold across six different schools in the U.S.!

The Team
Alex Ledbetter
Campus Director
Pomona '24
Alex is a student who holds several leadership roles within the finance industry. He serves as the Director of Financials at 5C Bigg-A-Bed, a consumer goods industry analyst at Sagehen Capital Management, the Vice President of the Pitzer Investment Fund, and a Director at Pomona Consulting Group. Alex is interested in becoming a financial engineer or doing economic litigation in the long term, but his short-term goals involve consulting and financial services. In his free time, Alex enjoys watching sports and hanging out with his friends.
Trinity Walker​

Trinity is a student leader at Claremont Colleges, serving as the President of Claremont Create, an organization that provides students with tools, resources, and events to foster engagement, entrepreneurship, and community vibrancy. This summer, Trinity will be interning at Deutsche Bank in FIC Sales, Trading, and Structuring in New York. When she is not working, Trinity enjoys traveling, immersing herself in nature, and spending quality time with her family and friends.

Lucas Welch
Campus Director

Lucas is a Canadian-American student at Claremont McKenna College, pursuing dual majors in Data Science and Economics. He is passionate about creative problem solving, financial engineering, and leveraging probability and statistics for predictions. Lucas enjoys exploring various hobbies, including chess, cybersecurity, baseball, DJing, and software development. As a right-handed pitcher for the CMS Stags, he is known for his devastating slider. Currently based in Los Angeles, Lucas is actively involved as an AI researcher and software developer.
Sustainability
Direct Charity
Sustainability is super important, but so is immediate impact. That's why, every year, Bigg-A-Bed will donate 5% of profits to an organization whose goal is to create positive change and assist those marginalized by the society we live in.
Frame Recycling
Our wooden frames are custom-made to support you and your sleep. Once they get worn out, they'll be repurposed through a range of partner companies for a variety of different needs. Nothing will be wasted!
Tree Planting
It's pretty simple; for every bed we rent, we plant two trees. We did the math - each of our bed frames uses about 1/20th of the average sized-logging tree. We decided we'd plant two trees anyways.
